This important conference gathers the diverse
demand side with its wide spectra of stakeholders,
from public procurers, private and public property
owners, banks, investors and insurers to estate
agencies and occupants in order to identify actions
subsequent to the recently adopted Communication
on Resource Efficiency Opportunities in the Building
Sector (COM (2014) 445).
The Communication proposes a process to develop a
framework with a limited set of core indicators for
the assessment of the environmental performance
of buildings, going beyond the current focus on
energy efficiency.
This conference provides a first opportunity for the
European Commission to learn more about what
aspects of such a framework would be needed
to make it attractive to the stakeholders on the
demand side.
