Intern Opportunity Title: Field Trip Programs Intern Department: Partnerships and Audience Development (PAD) Supervisors: Lauren Putze, Manager, Education Programs Possible Majors: Education, Museum Studies/Informal Learning, Early Childhood Requirements: Experience or interest working with museum partners (including educators and students) Interest in group field trip programming Experience and/or interest in gathering research Project and program management Strong communication skills Ability to work independently Ability to multi-task in order to meet deadlines; excellent time-management skills Proficient in Microsoft Word Description of Tasks: Gather research pertaining to the benefits of multiple field trips to museums/cultural institutions Develop (and pilot) multiple-visit filed trip program Coordinate program logistics Compile and analyze program effectiveness Interview present and past partners regarding field trips experiences Other PAD team initiatives as determined Projects: Chicago Children’s Museum believes creating and exploring are vital to a child’s healthy growth, development and happiness. While one visit to the museum is standard, our team is interested in the benefits to be gained from multiple visits to the museum over the course of the year. You will work closely with the Manager of Education Programs to assess the current field trip program and find ways of enhancing the experience of student groups who participant in 2 visits to CCM this year. Support and contribute to CCM’s overall philosophy and internal science programs.
