“Cucina Loves You”
irect from the Faubourg St. Honoré,
Paris, Martin du Louvre is bringing
must-see pieces from their highly
curated collection to Palm Beach for an
exclusive exhibit at The Silver Fund, from
February 7th through the 15th.
Specializing in twentieth century classic
moderns of the international schools, with
a particular focus on sculpture, Martin du
Louvre has built a reputation on ferreting
out rare works from private collections.
Among the works which are offered are
two sculptures by Rodin: The Hand of a
Pianist, and the Caryatid of the Girl with an
Upturned Nose.
e have yet to meet a Palm Beach local who
does not know AND love Cucina Dell’Arte.
The food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and
the notorious night life. Cucina is Palm
Beach’s Playground and has been since they day they
opened their doors. It’s the place you can rely on, as first to
open and last to close, on Palm Beach Island.
If you’re one of the lucky lover’s with a dinner reservation this Saturday, the Valentine’s Menu looks as delectable,
as ever.
Hopefully we’ll still see you after the disco ball comes
on, then the real question is what will you be sipping on?
May we suggest, a Nolet’s Gin Negroni, for the gentleman?
Straight from the signature cocktail menu, and certainly
out most romantic pick. For the ladies - a glass of Veuve
Clicquot, or even a bottle to share?
Grab your sweet someone, grab a bottle of bubbly, and
dance the night away!
At the behest of the interior decorator,
Jean-Michel Frank, the Giacometti brothers, Alberto and Diego collaborated on the
creation of The Mask of Medusa. Both the
mask and Diego’s much admired Ostrich

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” Delivers Family Fare
By Ryan Teason
he Hundred-Foot
Journey,” is long on
entertainment and
short on distractions.
Produced by Hollywood icons, Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey, the
film is now on DVD and Blu-ray.
This visually stunning film will
make you laugh, cry, and the ending
will leave you speechless.
Based on Richard C. Morais’s
novel, “The Hundred-Foot Journey,”
Speilberg and Winfrey tell the story
of an Indian family who are looking
for a fresh start, as they previously
owned a restaurant in India, which
was burned to the ground due to
political protests.
The family eventually moves to
Antonin-Noble, France, where they
open their own place across from
famous restaurant owner, Madame
Mallory played by Helen Mirren.
At first Madame Mallory criticizes
their Indian restaurant but when they
start to become one of the most popular restaurants in town, she begins to
worry about the financial state of her
own place.
A culinary war starts between the
family and Madame Mallory as they
both try to sabotage each other’s

Renowned Swedish director, Lasse
Hallstrom, deserves praise for making
a film that uses all the actor’s strengths.
For instance, Helen Mirren gives one of
the best performances of her career as
she charmes audiences across the world
with her onscreen eloquence.
Her performance caught the attention
of the Golden Globe’s committee as she
was nominated for Best Performance by
an Actress in a Motion Picture.
Hallstrom’s film was a great success
across the world, especially throughout
Europe due to the high number of tickets
sold at the box office.
The cinematography is breathtaking,
as Hallstrom uses sunset filled backdrops
and demonstrates old school transitions
such as curtain wipes.
One of the most enjoyable parts about
this film is the beautiful scenery of the
French countryside from start to finish.
The production and costume design in
this film are significantly more upscale
than most films are today. Dreamworks
Studio did a great job budgeting their
funds, so they could provide lavish set
designs, which made this production
visually pleasing.
