Seller Information
Thank you for your interest in selling items at the YANA Kids' Clutter Sale. Please read the
following instructions outlining what you can expect from the organizers and what we require
from you to help make this a successful event for all involved.
Approximately 4 -6 weeks prior to the sale, an email will be sent out to all previous sellers and
new sellers who contact us at: [email protected]
Every seller will receive a "Consignor's/Seller's Number". If you have participated in
previous sales, you will use the same number.
You will receive a sheet of tags via email, which you will need to print off on coloured
paper of your choice. The different colours of tags assists the organizers during the final
stages of the sale.
A Seller's Agreement will be emailed as well, which must be completed and handed in
when you drop off your items on the Friday night prior to the sale.
All items must be prepared properly, please see below for details, and dropped off at
the Courtenay Legion, on the Friday evening between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Please enter
through the back door of the legion, up the ramp.
You do not need to attend the sale, but are more than welcome to shop for yourself!
Pick-up time for unsold items and your sale earnings is Saturday between 2:30 and
3:00pm. Please respect this time frame.
You will receive 70% of your sale price on items sold. 30% will be donated to YANA.
Acceptable Sale Items
Children’s Clothing. All seasons and sizes (newborn through pre-teen). Clothing
must be freshly laundered and free of stains and/or holes.
Children’s shoes. Must be relatively clean with no major scuffs/flaws. Limit of 10
pairs per seller.
Maternity Clothing. All seasons and sizes. Clothing must be freshly laundered and
free of stains and/or holes.
Toys, Games and Puzzles. Please ensure that all pieces are included, in working
order, and battery operated toys have working batteries so they can be tested at the
Books, Videos/DVD’s, and CDs. Please ensure they are in good condition and
working order.
Indoor and Outdoor Play Equipment. Examples are: ride-on toys, bikes, slides, etc.
Please make sure any battery operated equipment have working/charged batteries
so they can be tested at the sale!
Baby Gear. Examples are: baby monitors, diaper pails, diaper bags, slings, bathtubs,
high chairs, swings, strollers, bouncy chairs, exersaucers, and bottles/sippy cups, etc.
Good condition please.
Blankets/bedding and Room Décor. Good condition pleas.
Furniture. Examples are: cribs, changing tables, rocking chairs, etc.
Seasonal Items. Examples are: Halloween Costumes and other holiday attire.
Stuffed Animals/Baby Dolls. Such items are preferred if they are new with tags OR
popular licensed characters such as Elmo, Tigger, Barbie,etc. Limit of 5 per seller.
Please Note: Items will be checked for stains, holes, pet and smoke allergens during drop off
and periodically throughout the sale. Any items with these imperfections will not be accepted
and/or will be removed from the sales floor and returned to the seller at pick-up.
Car seats will NOT be accepted.
Preparation of Items
All clothing must be hung on hangers.
Please hang items on hangers as seen below. Orient the hanger this way so presentation
on the racks is consistent.
Attach your tag on the item using a safety pin to the right hand side of the garment
(please refer to picture).
If you are hanging an outfit that has two or more pieces, hang the shirt(s) on shirt
hangers and the pants/bottoms on pant hangers separately and then use a rubber band
to attach the hangers together. Outfits should have one price for all items attached
together. The tag should be placed on the first item.
The description on your tag should indicate how many items are included in this outfit
(for example: 2pc outfit, or 3pc outfit)
Consider grouping 2-3 items together on hangers, especially baby clothing, such as
onesies, pajamas and children’s t-shirts.
Onesies also sell well grouped together inside a Ziploc bag. We find that rolling them so
that the top chest area of each onesie is showing works best.
Smaller items, such as socks, should be placed inside a Ziploc bag. Tape the tag to the
Ziploc bag or place it inside and make it visible.
Children’s Shoes
We recommend using Ziploc bags for infant shoes.
If shoes are too big for Ziploc bags, we recommend tying the shoes together using
heavy duty string, ribbon or zip-ties.
Punch a single hole through the top of your tag and then thread the string, ribbon or ziptie through it.
Tags are often lost from shoes, so please make sure they are securely attached.
Toys, Games & Puzzles
All toys, games, and puzzles must be in working order and include all pieces.
All battery operated toys must have working batteries.
If a toy has many pieces, you should secure them all in a Ziploc bag, use packaging tape
or a clear plastic container to keep the pieces together.
Make sure your tag is visible and securely fastened to all toys. Little hands may try to
“play” with these items.
Larger Items
Other items including furniture and larger outdoor items should have tags securely
attached. Use tape on items if safety pins will not work.
Please remember that these tags must be removed by the cashiers.
Pricing Guidelines
Depending on brand name and condition, we suggest you price your items approximately 25%
to 40% of the original retail price. Price to sell!
Unsold items that are not claimed during pick-up time on Saturday (2:00 and 3:00 pm), will be
