Avondale Grammar School encourages every child to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and use courtesy and respect in all their dealings with fellow students and teachers. Avondale Grammar School has a set of general guidelines regarding age group boundaries. These boundaries ensure that class and Year groups are appropriate for the School’s educational, social and pastoral care programmes. Avondale Grammar will assess each case individually to ensure the most appropriate outcome for each child. Each year, progress is cross referenced to standards set out by the NSW Board of Studies in their Foundation Statements and the Australian Curriculum Framework. i) The manner in which every assessment or examination for every course will be conducted A variety of diagnostic and standardised tests are used in order to ascertain student performance throughout each course. Reports are written on the basis of comprehensive information gathered throughout the year. Formal examinations include the Australian National Assessment Programme – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) which is conducted for Year 3, 5 and 7 students each year. Results of this assessment are analysed carefully by teachers and forwarded to parents as soon as they are available.
