STM32F-2 Series – high-performance Cortex™-M3 MCUs
The STM32 F-2 series complements our STM32 product
portfolio by offering devices with close pin-to-pin compatibility, with more performance, more Flash and SRAM memories, and advanced peripherals such as a camera interface,
crypto/hash processor, full/high speed USB-OTG, Ethernet,
CAN, and external memory interface.
This enhancement expands the number of addressable
applications in the industrial, consumer, and medical
segment. Based on Cortex™-M3 core running at 120 MHz,
the STM32 F-2 series allows a performance equivalent to
zero-wait state execution from Flash using the adaptive
real-time ART Accelerator™ technology.
The STM32 F-2 series includes devices with 128 Kbytes to
1 Mbyte of on-chip Flash memory, 64 Kbytes to 128 Kbytes
of SRAM, and 15 communication interfaces. LQFP64,
LQFP100, LQFP144, WLCSP64 (< 4 x 4 mm) and UFBGA176 packages are available.

The STM32 Value line complements our STM32 Cortex™-M3 microcontroller product portfolio by offering a low-cost product
line that is pin-to-pin compatible with the STM32 portfolio. It brings new features such as new 16-bit timers and CEC function to
expand the range of applications addressed in consumer, appliance and industrial segments. Based on the ARM Cortex™-M3 core

STM32L-1 Series – ultra-low-power MCU Family
The STM32L MCU family, based on the Cortex™-M3 core, extends the ultra-low-power portfolio in performance, features,
memory size and package pin count. The STM32L family combines very high performance and ultra low power consumption,
using optimized architecture and our proprietary ultra low leakage process, shared with the STM8L family. The STM32L
family is available in three different lines, so optimizing the STM32F family for many applications requiring performance

STM32L enriches ultra-low-power Platform and STM32 Portfolio
The STM32L15x/STM32L16x extends both STMicroelectronics ultra-low-power platform and the STM32 portfolio. The
STM32L microcontroller, powered by the ARM Cortex™-M3, offers more features and performance compared to the
STM8L. It complements the STM32 portfolio with lower overall power consumption, new ultra-low-power modes (low
power run, low power sleep), new peripherals (LCD, comparators), and new ultra-low-power architecture (voltage scaling,
ultra low-power MSI oscillator). The pin-to-pin compatibility between the STM32L and STM32F gives greater flexibility to
the application designer and supports a strategy based on a unique platform. The STM32L152 has an additional LCDsegment driver compared to the STM32L151. The STM32L162 embeds a 128-bit AES.

STMicroelectronics proposes an ultra-low power family of MCUs based on the STM8 core. The STM8L family combines
high performance and ultra-low power consumption using a new proprietary ultra-low leakage process and optimized
architecture. This family is available in four different lines, making the STM8L an optimal family to support many applications with special care on power savings. The STM8L101 is the entry point for the ultra-low power 8-bit portfolio. It is
cost-optimized and offers a high level of integration in an ultra small footprint. The STM8L151 is the feature rich 8-bit

This product line of 8-bit Flash microcontrollers responds
to the specific needs of automotive applications. From product specifications, on through design and manufacturing,
the focus is on reliability, application robustness and low
system cost.
The integrated true data EEPROM features top notch endurance and data retention throughout the full temperature
range. With its extended temperature range up to 150 °C
ambient temperature, the STM8A is the ideal and economic
solution for the growing market of automotive 8-bit applications. Newly introduced, the ultra-low-power STM8AL
is now available for sampling. With the multiplication of
electronic subsystems, saving power is becoming a key
consideration, and this product line responds to the specific

The new high-temperature series represents the state-of-the-art of discrete triacs available today on the market. Thanks to
unique process features, the family supports operating junction temperature up to 150 °C. Peculiarity of the new technology is the enhanced dynamic performances, in particular the maximum turn-off current capability and the noise immunity

Booming Applications for new Discrete IGBT’s
The new HF-Series of discrete IGBT’s of ST improves the power efficiency in high frequency applications by minimizing
the turn-off energy losses. Compared to the previous generation, the new HF-Series exhibits improved performances in
both static (around 10% less losses) and dynamic conditions (around 20% less losses).
The series permits moreover an easy paralleling operation
of the device. Dedicated anti-parallel diode (in either ultrafast or low-drop soft-recovery options) makes this family
suitable for many applications of the industrial world, like

High-side switches, with their additional integrated features, are power switches that can switch high currents into grounded
loads safely and in compliance with the harsh automotive environment. ST offers a wide range of fully-protected, smart highside switches based on VIPower (vertical intelligent power) technology. This proprietary technology allows integration of

The innovative HVLED805 is a high-voltage primary switcher
intended for operating directly from the rectified mains with
minimum external parts to provide an efficient, compact
and cost effective solution for LED driving. It combines a
high-performance low-voltage PWM controller chip and
an 800 V, avalanche-rugged power MOSFET, in the same
package.
The ST1CC40 is a fixed frequency step-down DC-DC
converter designed to operate as constant current source.
With an input voltage range between 3.5 and 18 V it is
suitable to drive LEDs from rectified 12 V AC halogen
transformer supplies. The device is able to provide up to
3 A output current with accurate regulation which makes
it suitable to drive high power LEDs. Synchronous rectification improves overall system performance.

The most integrated Power Line Communication Solution
STarGRID is a flexible, scalable and future-proof power-line communication system-on-chip platform to effectively address
demanding smart-metering and smart-grid application requirements and related standards.
By optimizing power consumption and system cost, the
platform is also ideal for many other green applications, e.g.
smart-energy control in photovoltaic modules. STarGRID
combines a high-performance DSP core with a programmable
protocol engine, along with the full analog front end (AFE)
and power-line driver in a single chip, for a complete, flexible
and cost-effective narrowband power-line communication
solution.
In particular ST7570 performs a spread frequency shift
keying (S-FSK) modulation compliant to IEC 61334-5-1
standard which is robust against narrowband interferes.
Additional protocol services such as alarm messages
management, repeater call and intelligent synchronization
are also embedded.
The ST758x performs multiple phase shift keying modulation (MPSK) as well as FSK modulation for backward
compatibility to ST7538/40 and is compliant to Meters
and More standard, reaching a maximum baud rate of
28.8 kbps.
All the devices are able to estimate the signal-to-noise ratio
and receiving quality and to combine that information for
automatic best coding/decoding algorithm and transmission
level adoption.

shrink the I/O module size and increase its EMI immunity
CLT devices form a new series of intelligent protected terminations designed for digital-input modules and proximity-sensor interfaces in industrial and building automation
systems. Today’s designers face the challenge of increasing
the number of I/Os per volume unit and increasing the I/Ointerface features. The CLT series offers compact, highlyimmune solutions which resist transient disturbances such
as those described in the IEC 61000-4 standard. As a result,
the CLT series cuts losses of the digital input by more than 2.
