a common Uniform Resource Locator (URL), often
consisting of only the domain name, or the IP address, each
sector of the travel and tourism industry holds different
kinds of businesses, each business can have their own

Call centers
Businesses can use call
centers to help their
customers make bookings,
request information and
make complaints.
Businesses can either set up
a website to run their
business on, or to provide
information about their
business. It is more likely
that websites are used for
advertisement purposes
rather than to provide an
online service.
Call Centre:
STA Travel
It is the worlds leading specialist in travel for students and young travelers. They
cover Insurance, accommodation, tours, bus and rail passes, language courses,
volunteering projects and flights. They operate in many countries around the
world like : USA, Australia, China, South Africa, Denmark…etc..
They have their own numbers for each country where their call centre is available.
Customers can request a call back, and they can use the service over Skype. This
shows that call centers are moving ahead, and incorporating technology in their
services, to keep them alive rather than making them extinct.
The Thomas cook website allows you to book your holiday online. It includes all the
factors like flights, accommodation, the tours, car hire and insurance.
Customers can browse the website through four different ways. Either by star rating,
board basis, budget or tabs ( flights, flights and hotels-together-, cruises, extras).
On the site, they have package deals which customers can order or they can “tailor
make” their holiday, to ensure that it suites all their preferences, and give them their
moneys worth.
All the payments can be made online, or customers can find out all their information
from the website and go to the store and make the payments in cash. There is also a
