Welcome to Sutton Day Nursery

T H E S P O RTS V I L L AG E
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Sutton Day Nursery
My name is Michelle Kendrick, Nursery Manager at Sutton Day Nursery.
The Nursery originated as a small crèche set up as a service for gym members to use on weekday
mornings. As demand for good quality childcare grew in 2006, the crèche became an OFSTED fully
registered Children’s Day Care Nursery under the name Playzone. As the Nursery grew and became more
successful it rebranded as Sutton Day Nursery in 2010.
Situated within The Sports Village, Sutton Day Nursery has the unique advantage of offering a family friendly
and homely environment for the children to learn, develop and have fun. The Nursery team are carefully
selected to ensure the childcare service meets the expected high standards. Sutton Day Nursery takes every
opportunity to take full advantage of the facilities available within the facility and encourages the children to
participate in tennis, gymnastics, music and movement sessions, and use the soft play equipment. The team
at Sutton Day Nursery recognises every child’s individuality and promotes positive health, well being and
development.
The future looks exciting with the current development of a nursery expansion enabling to offer more spaces
and a new purpose built outdoor play area with the objective of further improving the level of service and
facilities.
I hope your child enjoys their time with us whilst making friends along the way.

refunds or alternative days.

Dear Parent,
During your child’s day at Sutton Day Nursery we may go outside the premises on short walks to support
topic activities such as seeing the trains or going to the post office. We also take a small group of children
to the library once a week, this will entail a ten minute bus journey. There are two staff members and four
children, depending on their age, that will make the library trip. We encourage all children to take a turn for
the library visit as this proves to be a valuable and educational activity.
If you would like your child to be included on these trips please sign the permission slip below to give your
consent.
Those children who do not have permission will remain in the Nursery with the rest of the Nursery team.
If you have any questions, queries or concerns regarding this matter please feel free to contact myself or a
member of the Nursery team,
Yours Sincerely,

and comfortable with a separate sleeping and playing areas, creating a warm and caring home away from

We have 12 spaces available on a full or part time basis.
There are always at least 4 fully qualified members of staff in the baby room, and whenever possible your
baby will be cared for by the same person, proving a familiar and comfortable environment.
ROUTINE:
In the baby room we like to treat each baby according to its individual needs, working with you to find the
most comfortable routine.
As a general guide, the day consists of breakfast, lunch and tea with play, rest and snacks as required.
Weather permitting, babies can be ‘walked’ outside with our fleet of double buggies, or enjoy our outdoor
area. We are happy for your baby to be dropped off or picked up at any time within the working hours.
If you are a mother who is breast feeding or a parent who works nearby, you can feel free to call in to see
your baby at any time.
DAILY RECORDS:
These are kept for each baby and toddler, informing you of sleeping times and eating patterns. A chart is
also kept in the changing area to make a note of each baby’s nappy change and contents throughout the
day. All nappies, creams, bedding and meals are provided. However we do ask that you bring in milk for
your baby, in clearly labelled bottles. If your baby uses any specialised creams or nappies, we would ask
you to provide these.
Your baby will stay in this room until they are around 16 - 18 months, where he or she will gradually move
into the toddler room.
