Schurz High School is a candidate school for the Middle Years
and Diploma Programmes. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a

Middle Years Programme
9th/10th Grade
The MYP consists of eight subject groups
integrated through unique global contexts for
learning. In their sophomore year, students will
undertake an independent personal
project to demonstrate the development of
their skills and understanding.
Survey of Literature

Ensuring breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding through all subject areas.
Algebra or Geometry
Band, Orchestra, or Chorus
The development of skills that will
prepare students for higher education.

only 22 that will offer the MYP and DP!
Schurz is one of the largest high school in
Illinois with more than 2,300 students.

11th/12th Grade
Students are highly encouraged to continue
their MYP studies in the Diploma
Programme. The DP uses a comprehensive
