Active in Parks – Seeking registrations for Term 4 Green
Referrals Program!
Active in Parks, a Healthy Parks Healthy People program encourages people
to get healthy using the great outdoors! The Green Referrals Program is a
physical activity program based in parks. Individuals are supported by
qualified instructors, building self-esteem, motivation, confidence and skills to
exercise regularly. The fun sessions cater for all abilities. Linkages are made
to local community organisations to encourage ongoing and increased
participation in physical activity.
Term 4, 2013 Green Referrals Program starts on 7th October in 4 locations;

SHADES Group Therapy
Sessions
(Self Help Anxiety & Depression
Education Sessions)
The course is well known, evidencebased, effective, and has a strong
focus on developing practical selfmanagement skills for anxiety and
depression. SHADES runs for 2 hours
per week over 8 weeks, commencing
October 14, 2013.. Each course has
between 6-10 participants with two
facilitators.If you think you have a
patient who might benefit from
SHADES they can be referred refer
under a Mental Health Care Plan.

New online epilepsy program
ThinkGP presents the first video in a
new three part series developed
for Epilepsy Action Australia. This
online epilepsy program has been
developed to improve referral
pathways and support primary
healthcare professionals in managing
patients with epilepsy.
The first video “Women with Epilepsy”
features a discussion with neurologist
Dr Cecilie Lander and explores the
impact of epilepsy and its treatment
on women in the childbearing years
including contraception, pregnancy
and the effect of medications on a
developing foetus.
Health Care Pathways for Intersex Trans and Gender Diverse
Young Peoples’ Forum – 10-11th October
The forum is for anyone who :
a) would like to know more about the health needs of Intersex Trans and
Gender Diverse young people (the focus of Day 1) and/or
b) would like to be part of the process of developing a health care
pathways model (the focus of Day 2). (You can attend one or both
days)
The full 2 days will attract Category 1 - 40 CPD points (through individual GP
application) and the 1 hour breakfast attracts 2 Category 2 CPD points (selfrecorded) Click here for brochure.
