How To Choose The Appropriate Emergency Driver for LED Applications Integral Driver 1. Is your application a screw-in LED lamp or linear LED lamp with an integrated (internal) AC driver? ELI-S-20 Micro Inverter Supports up to 25W of emergency illumination at full brightness for a minimum of 90 minutes. Provides input power to the integral LED driver at line voltage (120 or 277V) and at line frequency (sinusoidal 60Hz). ELI-100-SD or ELI-250-SD Mini Inverters Supports either 100W or 250W of emergency illumination at full brightness for a minimum of 90 minutes. The ELI-100-SD and ELI-250-SD have a square wave output in emergency mode that may NOT be compatible with some ballasts or drivers. Please check with your ballast/driver manufacturers to ensure their products are compatible with a square wave input. Note: ELI Series inverters also operate compact fluorescent lamps and incandescent lamps. External AC LED Driver Max. Why would I choose an emergency lighting inverter instead of a unit equipment (BSL) model? If the lighting application uses an integrated (internal) AC driver, then an emergency inverter product must be used. Emergency lighting inverters can also be used with external AC drivers. (Philips Bodine BSL products require access to the AC driver and LED array.) 2. What are the advantages of the ELI-S-20 Micro Inverter vs. the 100 W or 250 W Mini Inverters? The ELI-S-20 Micro Inverter is significantly smaller and provides input power to the 120V or 277V system at sinusoidal line frequency, ideal for optimal LED operation. The ELI-100-SD and the ELI-250-SD Mini Inverters produce a square wave output, which is not ideal for LED applications. 3. What are the maximum remote mounting distances? ELI-S-20 = 250 feet ELI-100-SD or ELI-250-SD = 1,000 feet BSL products = 50 feet, or 1/2 the maximum remote distance for the AC driver, whichever is less 4. Are the Philips Bodine emergency LED products UL Listed? The ELI-S-20 Micro Inverter is UL Listed (OEM or field installation). The ELI-100-SD and the ELI-250-SD are UL Listed (OEM or field installation). All BSL products are UL Component Recognized (OEM installation only). 5. Who should I call with questions?
