When you purchase EMSS, you can generate Maxwell Spiceand Saber equivalent circuits from Maxwell software solutions. In addition, mechanical components augment the Schematic Capture Add menu. Parametric Tables The parametric analysis solved in the field simulator must be set up carefully in order to create a valid circuit model. • • For the two actuator models, add motion as a constraint in the geometry, and include it as a variable in the parametric table. Also include force or torque in the table. Use Data/Sweep to add the independent variables (current, position, rotation, and so forth) so that they form nested families of curves. For example, given the independent variables i1 and i2 , sweep i1 through its range of values. Next, for each value of i1, sweep i2 through its range. Inductance and Capacitance Matrices For magnetostatic models, EMSS assumes that inductance is a function of input current, so create a current through each conductor which can be added to the parametric table and varied. For electrostatic models, EMSS uses the capacitance matrices, and you need to set up a voltage source for each conductor in these models.
