This program is designed to provide a forum for contemporary methods of infection prevention and control in numerous health care settings. Issues that currently challenge the infection preventionist and others in health care will be presented in a variety of formats including lecture, group discussion and case studies. Valuable opportunities to network with colleagues will be accessible to conference participants. Exhibitors showcasing the latest products available to enhance infection control programs will be on hand. This program is planned for the infection preventionists, nurses, physicians and other health care professionals interested in infection control, infectious disease, patient safety and performance improvement. By attending this conference the participants should be able to: 1. Identify three areas in which the infection preventionist can team with other health care providers to improve patient outcomes 2. Identify steps for development of a successful model for implementing a MRSA surveillance program and other infectious diseases 3.
