Shelterhouse of Midland and Gladwin Counties is our community
organization which supports victims of domestic violence and
sexual assault with shelter, counseling, education and practical
support to move forward. All Shelterhouse Services are provided
free of charge.
An Important and Growing Need
· Served 13,700 people from Midland & Gladwin Counties
in 2012 – up 4% from 2011
· Answered 1,944 crisis calls in 2012 - up 25.8% from 2011
· Provided 4,546 nights of safety - up 12% from 2011
Funding Challenges
· Federal dollars now represent only 33% of Shelterhouse's
annual revenue, compared to 45% in 2007
· Additional reductions are expected
