About the Judges
Kris Hanson
Kris Hanson has led Ogilvy’s West Coast Creative for
the past eleven years. Her team has successfully
implemented dozens of fully integrated, statewide,
multilingual social marketing and public education
campaigns. Kris has developed campaigns focusing on a
multitude of issues facing Californians including Teacher
Recruitment, Litter Prevention, Teen Pregnancy
Prevention, Traffic Safety, Elder Abuse Prevention, Teen
Alcohol and Drug Prevention, Protecting Women’s Right
to Choice and Marriage Equality.
Kris and her team are adept at “trans-creation” developing multilingual creative concepts that are
culturally relevant and audience specific. Kris’ team has
garnered more than 180 local, regional and national
awards for achieving creative excellence.
Current clients include the Planned Parenthood
Affiliates of California, Office of the State Treasurer,
California Earthquake Authority, Virgin America,
California Office of Traffic Safety, American Chemistry
Council and Intel.
Kris earned a bachelor’s degree in communications
from California State University, Chico where she majored
in communications advertising, design and fine art.
Andy Tyer
Andy Tyer is a creative director at Saatchi and Saatchi
X, the shopper marketing arm of Saatchi & Saatchi. He
leads the most awesome creative team in the history of
advertising and works on such brands as Tampax, Nyquil,
Pringles, and Old Spice.
Prior to joining Saatchi, Andy worked as a creative
director and copywriter for a number of agencies in
Hawaii, Montana and North Carolina. His TV
commercials have won National ADDYs, as have his print
and collateral work, the most recent being a National
Silver ADDY win in 2009 for Vick’s.
In his spare time, he loves raising his three daughters,
entering and winning online video contests (he won a
brand new Dodge Grand Caravan), and playing X-Box
360 when everyone else in the house has gone to sleep.
Matthew Stewart
Before joining Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group,
Matt had real jobs with the absence of pixie dust and fairy
godmothers. He somehow still managed to find success in
the industry we call advertising.
Over the last decade he has had the privilege of
working on campaigns for Nestle brands like Coffee-mate
and Hot Pockets, as well as Old Spice, PUR, Disney Cruise
Line, and Disney Parks and Resorts.
You can even find some of this work in places like the
National Addys, HOW Design Annuals, Creativity
Annuals and CA among others, but most importantly in
the hearts of the loyal brand consumers.
After a fantastic public education Matt achieved a
B.F.A. from the prestigious Arkansas State University. He
currently resides in Orlando, Florida with his wife Shea
and his daughter Kendal. Ah, Florida - where he can finally
leave the top off his Jeep for extended periods of time.
