BAPTISMAL PREPARATION
Our Baptismal Preparation sessions are held on the Third Monday of
each month at 6:30 PM in the Narthex of the Church.
We would encourage parents to attend this gathering prior to the birth
of their child. At this time, life is a little less hectic than when trying to
adjust to a new family member and sleepless nights.
It is important for both parents to be a part of this preparation for Baptism. Therefore if you work the night shift please let us know and another time will be set up with the team coordinator.
Because the role of Godparents is important in helping to share, support and nurture your child’s growth in faith, they are most welcome to
attend with you.
To register for Baptismal Preparation, please call the Rectory at
755-5180.

“I will be their God and they shall be my people.” – Jeremiah 31:33
What does it mean to be God’s people? It means we recognize that everything we
have and everything we are belongs to God. We aren’t “owners” of anything, we are
merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. It means we are willing to use our
gifts and our lives to care for our neighbors and the world, just as God cares for us.
We offer our prayers and sympathy to
the family of Bob Stair and Ken
Buckley who passed away this past
week.
May their souls rest in eternal peace.

All are welcome to join us.
Faith Connections
Books: Inside Purgatory by Thomas W. Petrisko. Drawing from various authorities, popes,
theologians, saints, mystics, visionaries, and the
Blessed Mother – the author gives a detailed
picture of that mysterious place of final purification where souls are made ready to see the face of God and
live. Available from Leaflet Missal.
EASTER
FLOWERS
There will be an opportunity to
give after all Masses on the
weekends of March 21/22 and
March 28/29. Baskets will be
available in the gather
area. Easter Flower envelopes from the bulletin may
be placed in the offertory basket. Your participation in this
collection will be greatly appreciated and is important to
help decorate the church environment for the Easter Season.
Why is the Our Father called, “The Perfect Prayer?” One reason we call the Our Father, “The Perfect Prayer,” is because Jesus
taught us to pray it (Luke 11:1-13). It is actually four prayers in one.
First, it is a prayer of praise and gives God the glory that he is due.
Second, it is a prayer of petition in which we ask God to provide
what we need.
Third, it is a prayer asking for forgiveness and the strength to be
forgiving.
And last, it is a prayer of acknowledgement. It leads us to admit
that God knows what is best for us and reminds us to submit to his
will rather than our own. That’s what makes it the prefect prayer
and the perfect prayer model.
The Our Father is a good beginning to heartfelt prayer. Jesus encourages us to ask for God’s help, seek God’s will, and open the
door to God’s grace in our lives. (Source: Growing in Faith)

many talents: Writing letters of support; resources for job leads and

Fast and Abstinence Regulations For Lent
Everyone 14 years of age or over is bound to abstain from meat on Ash
Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent and Good Friday.
Everyone 18 years of age and under 60 years of age is bound to fast on Ash
Wednesday and Good Friday.
On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, only one full meatless meal is allowed.
Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full
meal. Eating between meals is not permitted. When health or ability to work
would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. Catholics should not
lightly excuse themselves from these prescribed minimal penitential practices.
