Parvovirus (“Parvo”)is a disease that causes severe bloody diarrhea, vomiting and often death. It is very common in Hawaii. Parvo is spread through contact with vomit and diarrhea of infected dogs. Your dog does not need direct contact with a dog carrying “Parvo” to become infected. For example, your dog could contract “Parvo” from simply walking on grass that an infected dog walked on up to 2 weeks prior. We highly recommend not taking puppies to parks, beaches and other public places until fully vaccinated.
