Pharmacological modulation of lifespan in C. elegans;
what it teaches us about aging
Aging is the single largest risk factor for chronic human disease. However, aging is easily slowed in
simple animals suggesting that targeting aging mechanisms may provide novel interventions for
age-related diseases. We are using the simple nematode C. elegans to identify novel aging processes
also promote protein homeostasis. We are further investigating the mechanisms at play and testing
