Concierge Comments…
April is here in all its glory and it’s time to play ball! Look around at all the busy
practice fields full of kids, getting ready for their turn at the plate. Yes, the boys and
girls of summer are coming back, including the Houston Astros , who return to action
with their home opening stand against the Cleveland Indians, April 6-9 at Minute Maid
Park. Celebrate the season and take the day off from work on Monday, April 6, and
live it up at the Astros’ Opening Day Street Fest , 1:00 – 4:30 p.m., before the game,
outside Minute Maid Park on Crawford Street. Enjoy live music, pep rallies with
players, Houston’s top food trucks and activities for all ages. No game ticket is
required for the street fest. If you order your Astros tickets through the Concierge
Desk, you save on the ticket service charges. Concierge pricing is also available on
home games for the Texas Rangers in Arlington at Globe Life Park.
It’s also a great time to enjoy rampant creativity on wheels at the 27th Annual
Houston Art Car Parade, April 11, from Waugh to Bagby and back again. The 12th
Annual Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair, April 8-12, at the Sugar Land Marriott Town
Square and the historic Imperial Sugar Factory, offers a great opportunity to indulge
your culinary and wine tastes and support the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and
Restaurant Management. If your culinary tastes are a little more basic, then tie on the
bib and enjoy the 3rd Annual Houston Barbecue Festival, April 26, at NRG Park. A
portion of the proceeds benefit the event’s charitable partner, Vita-Living, Inc., which
provides lifelong support programs for adults and children with disabilities like
cerebral palsy and autism.
